At the Fort Bowie National Historic Site, visitors can tour the ruins of the fort once used as a key outpost by American troops during its 19th century conflicts with the Apache peoples. Reachable by a 1.5-mile hike, the ruins have an informative visitors center which provides further information about the fort and the conflict. It is located about 13 miles south of the town of Bowie.
Park open daily sunrise - sunset. Visitor center open daily 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
